Bircroft join the scrum of the Irish Debt Market
The Irish debt market could benefit from access to a broader pool of funding options provided by the international lenders to drive down pricing. //
In perfect timing, with the British & Irish Lions 2021 Tour to South Africa about to start, Paul Wallace, a former Ireland and British & Irish Lions International rugby player, alongside his London based colleagues at Bircroft Private, are focusing on the debt opportunities coming out of the Irish Property Market.
We believe there is a gap in the Irish market that is not being competitively covered by the Irish banks and local debt providers. Investors and developers who require debt funding of between £10-£20 million are either being charged too much or ignored as not “big” enough and transactions bigger than this could benefit from access to a broader pool of funding options provided by the international lenders to drive down pricing.
With Paul’s extensive knowledge of the Irish market, having operated out of Dublin for Bircroft both on the debt and insurance brokerage side for over 10 years and Bircroft’s experience in the UK debt brokerage market over the last 25 years, Bircroft are well placed to flourish in the Irish market and are looking to provide debt finance to customers throughout its regions – Dublin, Cork, Galway. We believe that we can achieve competitive terms through our comprehensive network of lenders. We can help you in all areas – development finance, senior investment debt and mezzanine finance.
As an Irish International, Paul played every minute of all three Lions Tests in South Africa in 1997 on a winning Tour side, and previously played for Leinster in Ireland and Saracens in the UK. Paul also formerly worked at Jones Lang LaSalle Ireland, with responsibility for overseas investment before setting up the Bircroft office in Ireland over 10 years ago.
Bircroft Private, managed by Tom Robinson, Mark Selwood & David Birchenall, are one of the pioneers in debt brokerage in the UK. We are market leaders in sourcing competitive investment and development finance for all aspects of real estate and with over £12 billion of debt placed with lenders worldwide, have established an enviable reputation of introducing quality borrowers to the lending market.
Now that COVID regulations are opening up and the world is finding its way back to a new normal, Bircroft have been in discussion with various investors and developers based in Ireland regarding the expanding Irish market and the debt opportunities that are becoming available.
